Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: August 22, 2026
In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) guidelines concerning testimonials and endorsements, this page discloses how RoofClaim HQ makes money and what our links do.
Current status: no commission links, one signed lead agreement
As of the date above, no link on this Site pays RoofClaim HQ a commission, and we earn nothing from any company listed on this Site. The companies on our insurance agents page are editorial picks. We are not paid to list them, they have not asked to be listed, and we receive nothing if you use those links. Each card says so, and the notice above the cards says so.
We are stating this explicitly because the opposite mistake is common and worth avoiding: a site that displays "we may earn a commission" on links that earn nothing is claiming a business relationship it doesn't have. We would rather under-claim.
One thing has changed, and it belongs on this page even though it is not a commission link. On August 19, 2026 we signed an affiliate agreement with a roofing lead network — a company that buys homeowner referrals and resells them to contractors. It concerns the find a roofer form, not any link you can click. No lead has been sent under that agreement and it has not paid us anything. When it becomes active, the buyer is named in the consent text on the form, above the submit button, before you provide anything.
If that changes
We may join affiliate programs in the future. If we do, then on any link that actually pays us: the card label will change from "editorial listing" to "affiliate link," the disclosure above the cards will change to match, and this page and our privacy policywill be updated on the same day. A commission would come at no additional cost to you — the price or terms you're offered would not depend on whether you arrived through our link.
How outbound links are marked
Outbound partner links on this Site route through a /go/[slug] redirect and open in a new tab with rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" attributes, consistent with search engine guidance on marking paid or commercial links. We apply those attributes to unpaid editorial links too, because the placement is still commercial in nature and the conservative marking is the honest one. Any page containing these links also displays a disclosure notice above them, in addition to this page.
Editorial independence
No commercial relationship — the lead referrals described below, or any affiliate program we might join later — determines what topics we cover, what we recommend in our guides, or how we describe the claims process. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage of any specific insurance carrier, contractor, or product.
The conflict worth naming: we are paid when you request a roofer, so we have a financial reason to want you to submit that form. We've tried not to let that bend the advice — our guides tell you when a claim isn't worth filing, when a repair beats a replacement, and how to spot a contractor running a scam, none of which is good for our revenue. Judge the guides on whether they actually helped, and hold us to it.
How we actually make money today
The estimate request on our find a rooferpage is currently the Site's only source of revenue. It is operated by a roofing lead network, not by us. What you enter — including your name, phone number, email, and property address — goes directly to that network and the contractors and partner companies it works with, and we are paid a referral fee for sending you. We never receive or store it, which also means we cannot retrieve, correct, or delete it for you.
Under California and several other state privacy laws, that transfer counts as a "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, because we receive value in exchange for it. We say so plainly here rather than hiding behind "we may be compensated," and you can opt out of that sharing at any time. Our privacy policy details exactly what is passed along, who becomes responsible for it afterward, and what opting out can and cannot undo.
We do not screen or endorse those contractors, and being referred one is not a recommendation from us. See our Terms of Use.
